4.1% of citizens unemployed in Bowie County in 2021

Bowie County recorded an unemployment rate of 4.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,673 people out of the 92,957 living in Bowie County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Bowie County has decreased compared to the 4.8% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Bowie County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 38,721 people who had a job during that time, 16 were employed in the Armed Forces and 38,705 belonged to the civilian labor force.
